Leadership proposition
The way I run product and platforms
Customer-led product strategy, organisations built to scale, and results that reach the P&L.
- Customer outcomes
I work backwards from the customer: the problem they have, the outcomes they are after and what a good solution looks like to them. Then I measure whether they got it.
- Shared goals, clear owners
I turn messy problems that span teams into shared goals, so everyone knows what matters, who owns it and how progress is measured.
- Direction, then delivery
I make platform strategy clear enough for executives to sponsor and concrete enough for teams to ship, then stay close to the trade-offs and the release.
- New products, scaled globally
0 to 1: taking a new product from idea to the first version customers rely on. 1 to 100: scaling it across countries and business units.
- Building the organisation
I build teams with clear ownership, clear decision rights and the psychological safety to disagree and admit mistakes. Then I grow the people who will lead them next.
Professional journey
18+ years across energy, eCommerce, customer experience and logistics, from process engineering to product and platform leadership.
Before my MBA I worked in energy. At Petrofac I qualified engineering proposals for oil and gas plants. At Kongsberg Digital I designed process simulation and operator training systems. At Honeywell I owned products that used machine learning for simulation and plant control, working with technology and commercial teams worldwide.
The training systems work like a flight simulator for the plant. I commissioned them on site.
- Process EngineerPetrofac · Mumbai, IndiaJul 2006 – Oct 2007 · 1 year 4 months
Qualified engineering proposals, technically and commercially, for turnkey engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) projects on upstream oil and gas plants.
- Process EngineerKongsberg Digital (now Falkor) · Mumbai, IndiaOct 2007 – Oct 2008 · 1 year 1 month
Designed process simulation, operator training and bespoke analytics platforms for upstream oil and gas, offshore processing and oil storage plants.
- Product OwnerHoneywell · Bengaluru, IndiaOct 2008 – May 2012 · 3 years 8 months
Owned machine-learning-based simulation and plant-control products (digital twins) for oil and gas customers.
After a two-year full-time MBA, I spent eight and a half years at Amazon. I started as a senior programme manager in India, then moved to the UK in late 2015 to work in supply chain and transportation.
In London I launched Amazon Air in Europe from scratch. The job title was programme management; the work covered product, ground operations, carriers and data. Opening EU warehouse stock to both the UK and Germany gave customers a wider selection on a two-day promise. We moved from one-off flights to daily rotations within 45 days, tripled air volume and ran at 98%+ delivery reliability.
The launch grew into a wider programme for Prime across 2B+ orders, 10+ countries, 50+ sites and 200+ carriers. I built a single end-to-end view of delivery performance that became the source of truth for setting SVP-level goals, and we made delivery faster while holding the delivery promise above 97% as volume grew 20 to 30% a year.
- Senior Program ManagerAmazon · Chennai, IndiaApr 2014 – Sep 2015 · 1 year 6 months
Digitised seller workflows to add 25M+ new products annually across global marketplaces.
- Head of Program Management, EU TransportationAmazon · London, UKSep 2015 – Jul 2018 · 2 years 11 months
Cut click-to-delivery time by 15% for 2B+ Prime orders across 10+ European countries.
- Head of Product, BooksAmazon · London, UKJul 2018 – Sep 2022 · 4 years 3 months
Search and discovery for 60M+ customers across a $600M+ revenue Books business (Kindle, Audible, print) in 20+ countries. Granted US Patent 11734379.
I led search and discovery in Books across Kindle, Audible and print, with engineering and design based in Madrid and London. The scale was 60M+ active customers and $600M+ in annual revenue running through the surfaces my team owned.
We applied deep-learning semantic ranking, personalised recommendations and merchandising to a catalogue of hundreds of millions of items. The team shipped new search features and filed patents for the way results were presented. US Patent 11734379 was granted.
- Director, Product Management - Digital Products and PlatformsA.P. Moller – Maersk · Maidenhead, UKOct 2022 – Jun 2026 · 3 years 9 months
Director on Maersk's Business Platforms leadership team. Led product, UX, engineering and data teams based across 6 countries on a portfolio of digital products and platforms underpinning $40B+ annual P&L revenue in 100+ countries.
I joined Maersk's Business Platforms leadership to bring product craft honed at Amazon into one of the world's largest logistics and commerce businesses. I aligned the leaders who own each region's result with engineering, design and data around one product direction, rather than each region optimising only for itself.
At Maersk I started products that did not exist, moved manual sales-to-order work online, and put logistics into the buying experience for millions of smaller businesses. Customers could ask a question and act on the answer.
I also took Maersk Go, a product that was losing money, back to profitable growth, turning its performance around through sharper positioning, focused retention work and a lower cost to serve. I expanded the product into new markets while keeping unit economics on track.
As the portfolio grew I tightened ownership and evidence across the team. I ran a Generative AI initiative that shipped a customer-facing answer engine and an internal support assistant, both in production.
